A’MARE
Design en plein air: between light, water and reflections!
The exhibition investigates the relationship between natural phenomena, human perception, and the built environment through Jacopo Foggini’s A’mare collection, presented during Fuorisalone 2021 at the Edra showroom. The furniture pieces, handcrafted from polycarbonate strips, exploit the material’s optical properties—transparency, refraction, and light diffusion—to emulate the visual behavior of water.
The installation integrates human movement, architecture, and natural elements through a reflective pool and a transparent walkway, creating continuity between body, object, and space. The glass architecture of the Canadian Pavilion enables dynamic light variation, directly influencing chromatic perception.
The project draws on light absorption and scattering principles, where shorter wavelengths penetrate deeper, defining water’s characteristic coloration and reinforcing the synthesis between human, nature, and architecture.
